So, here I am in New York city for the Fashion Law Bootcamp at the Fashion Law Institute at Fordham University!
Yesterday was the first day. The 45 students were welcomed with a delicious and pretty tea at the Law school cafeteria. We received a Fashion Law Institute tote bag and beach towel and 2 volumes of reading!
Our first lecture was with Michael Pantalony, head of IP at LVMH. He talked about the IP protection for fashion designs in the US and abroad (Europe, Japan and Brazil). But the highlight of his lecture were the many examples/cases of LV, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy he shared with us to illustrate how he uses IP to protect fashion.
Heading off to class now.
